We Think

“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”

THINKING is one third of our mission statement! What do we mean by that?

  • By and large, our members are educated. We like to think and study.
  • We believe that reason and faith are not opposites.
  • For us, science can support faith. For instance, we like to ponder where the hand of God is in awesome evolution.
  • We believe that doubt can strengthen faith.
  • While we revere the “basics” such as The Bible, The Apostles’ Creed, and the Lutheran Confessions, we also like to challenge the traditional understanding of these things.
